Airport Scanners Should Be Avoided When Carrying A Pump

If you are travelling by plane and carrying a pump and/or a CGM, you may want to double-check with the manufacturer about the body scanners used at the airports.

Medtronic states theirs pumps and CGM devices can go through metal detector, but not X-ray and body scanners. It suggests to carry an information card and request a hand-wand inspection if needed. Animas recommends to avoid all scanners and request a hand-wand inspection. Insulet is the only company not to impose any restriction, due to a different technology that they’re using.
